Stop drop and roll…

Brace yourselves beautiful people,

There’s about to be an onslaught of ooooh it’s nearly Christmas get your shit together marketing crap hitting your inboxes and social feeds any moment now… bleurgh!

I was guilty of having a little hissy about all the shit I hadn’t got done myself this week, when I was told in no uncertain terms (by the most gorgeous CEO I’ve ever had the good fortune to work with) to:

STOP! Think about where you were at this time last year… look how far you’ve fucking come! (I’ve taught her to swear HA!)

So today lovely chickies, I’m passing on the lecture…
Before you buy into the ‘holy fuck’ it’s practically 2020 marketing crap… do yourself a flavour… stop, drop and roll (as in ‘roll your mind back to this time last year’)

In the past 12 months:

What HAVE you done?

What HAVE you made it through that you never thought you could?

What HAVE you learned?

How much have you grown?

Who has been right there by your side laughing and high fiving… but also dusting you off when the shit hits the fan, saying “well that sucked” let’s have another crack shall we?

Write it all down.

  • Once you know something you can’t un-know it.

  • Once you see something you can’t un-see it.

  • Give yourself the same cheerleading that you would give to someone that you love and admire the bejesus out of dammit.

And when the internet marketers hit town and tell you how you’ll be a total loser if you don’t buy their thing, lose 50kg, build a 6 figure business, achieve spiritual enlightenment, transform your wardrobe, your life and be a perfect mother with non-snotty misbehaving (aka normal) children and for the love of god don’t forget the elusive beach fucking body by December.

When you notice yourself buying into their bullshit and headed down that mental detour. Notice that familiar soundtrack, remember our January pact to…repeat or evolve this year, and decide… hmmm am I really going to buy into this?

Or am I going to use my precious time and energy for some small baby steps closer to where I want to be… or to some time paying attention to the people who I love instead…

Stop. Drop. Roll.

How’s that for a plan Stan?

As you were… xxx
